  1. I really enjoy the Mashable website. It has a little bit of information for everyone about tech and social media. One of the articles I read while there was about parenting in the digital age, http://mashable.com/2011/09/14/parenting-tech-children/, one of the first I found. This site has a great UI and is very interesting, I lost about an hour without even realizing. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  2. I knew very little about the quick response (QR) codes until this summer. The Mashable site has some interesting pictures and comments about this form of technology. I had never seen a QR code until I bought a 3DS. You can scan the codes to collect Pokemon. Some of my students are into that, so I sent them a few websites on how to create their own QR codes. They played around with the grids and made some codes that produced actual Pokemon on my 3DS. Pretty interesting in my opinion. I wonder where this technology will go from here. http://nintendo3dsblog.com/every-single-qr-code-for-pokedex-3d
